1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BridgeCalm's mobile application, website, or therapist portal (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2. Description of Services
BridgeCalm is an AI-guided wellness practice tool that helps therapy patients practice evidence-based skills between therapy sessions. Our Services include:
- Conversations with Jan, an AI wellness companion
- Mood check-ins and self-report wellness assessments
- Guided skill practice (CBT, DBT, ACT frameworks)
- Progress tracking and optional sharing with your therapist
- A therapist portal for clinicians to monitor patient progress
3. Important Medical Disclaimer
BridgeCalm is NOT a substitute for professional therapy, counseling, or medical treatment.
- Jan is a wellness companion, not a therapist, counselor, or healthcare provider
- BridgeCalm does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental health condition
- Self-report wellness checks are not diagnostic instruments
- Always follow your therapist's clinical guidance over any information provided by BridgeCalm

4. User Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must provide accurate information during registration
- You may not share your account with others
- Therapist accounts require a valid professional license
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to manipulate or abuse the AI system
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services
- Use automated systems to access the Services without permission
- Share, sell, or redistribute content from the Services
6. Subscription and Payments
BridgeCalm offers free and paid subscription tiers. For paid subscriptions:
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
- You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice
7. Therapist Terms
If you use BridgeCalm as a therapist:
- You are responsible for all clinical decisions regarding your patients
- BridgeCalm data supplements but does not replace your clinical judgment
- Patient data shown in the portal is based on self-reports and AI-generated summaries
- You must comply with all applicable laws, including HIPAA, regarding patient data
- You are responsible for obtaining patient consent for BridgeCalm use
8. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Services are owned by BridgeCalm, Inc. and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the content you create (mood entries, task notes, etc.).
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BRIDGECALM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately.
11. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.
